Floating
Debris & Milky Water
After a rain you may see floating debris that is
washed into the pond or your rowdy koi could be wallowing in the plant baskets
creating dust devils in the water. Rather than changing out the water you
can use a product that binds the particles together so that they fall to the
bottom of the pond and clear the water. This same product will clear the
pond of the white, milky bacteria bloom new ponds tend to experience. It
will not, however, work on green water.

Foam
Foam occurs on the water
when proteins build up. This happens most often after fish spawn but can
also be attributed to other factors as well. A skimmer will take much of
it off but if you want to zap it away instantly, this is what you use.

New Pond Preparation
If using chlorinated water and
before adding any fish the chlorine must be removed so that it does not burn the
gills of the fish. We use
de-chlorinator for that.
It takes months for a new pond to build up the necessary
biological processes to help keep it clean and healthy. For that we use
boosters (I call them biological boosters) that promote the growth of enzymes
and nitrifying bacteria to boost biological filtration and sludge digestion.
