Don't be fooled by clear
water. It can be clear and deadly. Testing the water and
achieving a balanced eco-system are important to the success of your pond.
Established ponds should
be tested about once a month unless there are other factors such as
adding new fish (increasing fish waste) or if you should experience any
fish death or if any fish are acting strange.
Test new ponds every week
for at least a month when first stocking the fish.
Anytime there is a bad
reading of ammonia, pH or nitrites you should test everyday until
stabilized.
Anytime the fish are dying
or acting strangely.
